Airspan 900MHz System

The SPEEDEX Airspan system is based on the very latest in wireless technology- Airspan's 900MHz WipLL system, known as "Wirelss DSL." Our Airspan system is deployed in Posey County at 335' on a tower in Marrs Township in Posey County, Indiana. It provides coverage for most of the area between Evansville and Mount Vernon that previously had no high speed options available.

If you are very close to the tower, you may be able to use an IDR (Indoor Radio) (shown at left) that requires no outdoor antenna. It has an integrated 7dBi gain antenna and signal strenth indicator lights as well as an RJ-45 ethernet connection (for connecting to your computer and link light.

The typical Airspan install will consist of an SPR (Subscriber Premesis Radio) mounted on a pole on your roof or on your eve (shown at left). The SPR has an integrated 11dBi antenna. It is then conencted to an SDA (shown below).

The SDA (Subscriber Data Adapter) is the companion unit for the SPR (above). It is the unit that your computer or router plugs into.

The Airspan WipLL system we use actually employs FHSS (Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum) CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) over 902-928MHz which reduces interference and allows maximum throughput. The system itself is capable of up to 4Mbps to each client, but we have limited it to 1.5Mbps based on available bandwidth.
